Vat 69 was originally bottled in Port bottles, it maintained this iconic look for over 100 years. This lot comprises an early and later 1960s version, one bottled at 40%, the other at 44% ABV. VAT 69 is a famous old brand of blended whisky that was the favourite whisky of Captain Lewis Nixon of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. It was first made in 1882 by William Sanderson, a liquor manufacturer from Leith, Scotland. Blended using forty different malt and grain whiskies, this is a smooth, balanced spirit and a perennial favourite with blend drinkers. SILVER imports for the Italian market. Please note as this is a vintage whisky, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary.
