After its closure in 1983, the Port Ellen distillery has continued to gain a much respected status as a true legacy of Islay. This is the first of the incredibly popular Port Ellen annual releases - distilled in 1978 and bottled 25 years later in 2004, at cask strength and limited to 5,100 bottles with this being bottle 1,672.
