The Karuizawa distillery was established in 1955 in the foothills of Mt. Asama, an active volcano. Traditional, small-scale and high quality production is the aim, with wooden wash backs, small stills and sherry casks from Spain all contributing to the process. The environment is also ideal for whisky production with low temperatures and high humidity. So many Karuizawa's are presented in exciting labels, this bottle was released for Tokyo Jazz Club. Distilled on 19th April 1993 and bottled on the 14th October 2006 from a single sherry cask #2501. Only 492 bottles were produced.
