W&A Gilbey were established in 1857 as a wine and spirit merchant, but did not make their first plays into the Scotch whisky market until 1916 when it bought into the blending firm, James Catto. The Gilbey's Spey Royal blend was launched shortly after. The group, which owned Glen Spey, Knockando and Strathmill distilleries, eventually merged in 1962 with United Wine Traders to form International Distillers and Vintners (now Diageo). An Italian Import, is it estimated this bottle goes back to the 1950s.

Presentation: 70 Proof
